The State Bank Business Challenge is part of the One Utah Summit on the Southern Utah University campus. This challenge is made possible by a generous sponsorship by the State Bank of Southern Utah. The challenge helps identify and support high-potential early-stage businesses. With $25,000 in cash prizes plus additional awards, all entrepreneurs who meet the criteria are encouraged to enter the competition and have their idea evaluated.

Video application deadline: Oct. 2, 2022, at midnight (must include a YouTube link)
Notification of advancement in the competition: Oct. 6 by midnight
Round 1: October 11 at 4 p.m. at the Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business
- 90-second pitch, approximately 60 seconds for Q&A
Round 2: October 12 at 12:30 p.m. in the Randall Jones Theater
- Approximately seven selected contestants
- 90-second pitch, around 3 minutes of Q&A
The State Bank Business Challenge is an early-stage business competition, not a business idea competition. Businesses must have generated some revenue by the time of submission but cannot have earned more than $200,000 in 2021. This competition is open to legal residents of Utah and students attending Utah schools.
